A collection of totally biased self centered stuff, accumulated since 1999 by Iphigenie aka Superiphi aka Joelle Nebbe-Mornod, old style netizen, reader, gamer, walker, photographer, web architect, technology executive, and constantly curious mind
random news about the site and all sorts of things

a lovely story on how teachers created a NWN module that is educational and tests students on english and math etc. And since they did craft a story the students want to get to the end of, it works!
I particularly loved that quote:
“They would come knocking on the staff room door and wouldn’t let us go until we had taught them how to calculate area.”
beautiful :D
That’s how you really learn things, when you want to understand in order to achieve something, not because it is arbitrarily forced down your throat with the idea that “you must learn it because it will be useful later”. If it will be useful later why not start by putting a real useful problem or task in front of the pupils, let them bang their head on it a while, then give them the tools to solve it, which they will want to learn at that point. That’s exactly what a game does.
Anyway, the story is under http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/6254989.stm
While reading a blog I check regularly, the Small Print Project (http://smallprint.netzoo.net/) they mentioned blogs and social networking sites having sometimes odd terms, such as strange claims of rights on reusing/reselling the content or the ability to turn off your blog/area without needing any justification…
He then mentions checking the one he uses, wordpress, and finding no such provision. For some reason I followed that link (http://wordpress.com/tos/) and I noticed something else on that page: We’ve decided to make the below Terms of Service available under a Creative Commons Sharealike license, which means you’re more than welcome to steal it and repurpose it for your own use, just make sure to replace references to us with ones to you, and if you want we’d appreciate a link to WordPress.com somewhere on your site. We spent a lot of money and time on the below, and other people shouldn’t need to do the same.
I find this extremely cool
The site is migrating to a new host and upgrading from pmachine to expressionengine.
I have also started updating the design, although it still uses a painting by O’Keefe - thats tradition now
Let me know if anything is missing or broken, I know theres still quite a bit of polishing to be done....
Oh my - its been half a year. Bad me!
OK these past months have been hectic I have an excuse. Well actually it is not a good excuse, I let work take over and forgot to have a life!
So in case people dont even remember me… I have added a little “about” on every page
I am so sorry I didnt keep you up to date.
But nobody was reading you and work was so mad and I just didnt have the time to come up with any content to feed you.
You almost starved to death - indeed one morning I found you gone but I then found out it was the host you were living on.
I promise to take better care of you in the future, but don’t expect a redesign any time soon
This is slowly making more and more noise. When the chairman of an oil company with a lot to lose admits that the problem is huge and urgent, will people finally give up on the denial?
“No one can be comfortable at the prospect of continuing to pump out the amounts of carbon dioxide that we are pumping out at present ... with consequences that we really can’t predict but are probably not good.”

Hi All
I have imported the content of the weblog into “Expression Engine” - the next generation super-blog tool by the makers of pmachine.
I am now trying to migrate all my games data (wish me luck)
Then I will redesign the site - I can’t be having a classic blue site like everyone else! Bear with me and if anyone has any recommendations or tips please give me a ring.
